26years ago, my wife took her wedding ring off in the bathroom at her place of work, walked out, realized she left it, and in the 1 min it was out of her sight, it was stolen. If you are going to wear rings, or watches, never ever ever take them off in public. Ever.

I am sorry about your loss.
Just like most of the folks here, I do not take off my watch in public except when I am instructed to do so by the airport security. Even when I do so, I keep the watch in my laptop bag. I always make sure that my bag is in the scanner before I walk through the metal detector. I rather risk getting my watch scratched or wet than have it stolen from me. |

Sorry for your loss. I had the same experience in the restroom of a Jakarta mall too, however it was not a watch but a new phone that I bought.

Sorry for your loss.
If it was me in a public place, I'd rather lose the strap and get it wet than the whole watch. Never take off any valuable in public. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
