Datejust Turn-O-Graph, cal. 3135 tight when setting time/hands.
Recently added a Turn-O-Graph 116264 to the collection. Love the watch. Just beautiful with the white dial with the red print, the red date and the red second hand. Used but in mint condition. So far so good.
I however noticed that it was quite tight when setting the time. Especially when turning the hands counter clockwise the tightness is quite noticeable, to the extent where the seconds hand will bounce a little counter clockwise as well. As if it is under tension (a springy type of effect). Compared to my other watches with cal. 3135 this one is quite a bit more tight and thus less smooth when turning the hands. As mentioned I have quite a few watches with the 3135 movement and haven't noticed this level of tightness before. I certainly haven't seen the seconds hand vibrate a little backwards when turning the hands counter clockwise. I have experienced this on a Seiko movement but not a Rolex movement. Is this normal for a Rolex cal. 3135 or is this a symptom of something? It should be said that I have tested it on my timegrapher with an average measurement of about 285 amplitude (at all angles), max. 0.3 beat error and +4 seconds/day. So it seems healthy at a glance. Grateful for any input!

Just an idea, but could the oils be drying up, thus causing it to feel less smooth? I have a TOG as well, and don't have that problem.

I'd say it's about time for a service. If the previous owner didn't wear it and left it crown out for a few years it's possible that it needs some love on the inside lol.
