That first scratch....
Just noticed a scratch on my PAM 512 and its a big one.
I'm very careful with my watches, so I was quite surprised when I saw it yesterday. Not even sure how it got there.......... ![]() ![]() |

Scratches have a way of fading and blending with other ones, so, I wouldn't touch it until service time. But, you could always consider a little Cape Cod action, since the scratch is on a fairly easy spot to lightly polish.

I look at scratches as war wounds. Shouldn't be so much a concern since it's an everyday possibility when you wear your watches.
If I was too concerned about scratches and not getting them, then I'd keep the watch in the safe. You're Pam is a beauty so wear it often and not worry about those scratches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That is in a very easy spot to remove with Cape Cod.

About the scratch, yeah, its part of owning the watch, so I don't let it bother me too much. I was just venting at seeing the first big scratch. I'll get it polished out at service or if it bothers me too much get help from the AD.
On a separate note, today, I noticed that the OEM spring bars were bent. The AD didn't have any in stock, so they've ordered new ones. Does anyone know if there are any good/stronger spring bars that will fit the 512 while I wait for OEM replacements to arrive? Found these two on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Springbar-Diam...dp/B00FFTC03G/ http://www.amazon.com/MARATHON-WP003...dp/B00K7CBEWO/ ![]() |

That's interesting... I had the same bent bar issue with my 512 (http://forums.watchuseek.com/f75/ben...s-1270218.html). I replaced them with shoulder-less spring bars from Marathon. The Marathon bars have a longer bar and is more robust. I bought from Amazon.
Edit: I just went through the links on your post. I bought the Marathon bars you have on your post. They are far better than bars from Panerai. |

Ordered both of the spring bars from amazon, I'll likely keep the Marathon. ![]() Does anyone know what Panerai's policy is on repair/warranty etc. if spring bar fails and watch is damaged? |
