Good looking watch. I was initially very skeptical of this model but have completely reversed my stance after seeing them in person. Not sure one will ever make its way into my collection, but I can easily see why they are beloved by many.

The Sky-Dweller is a fine looking watch and it looks great on your wrist.

PS It's always dangerous to try on something when you are in an AD's shop or the RSC.

I recently did the same with a variety of TT Daytonas, the new WG GMT 2 and the TT YM2. Needless to say, they all looked good, especially the latter 2 which cost (in Singapore dollars and after discounts) $40,000 and $27,000.

Sadly, like Grady I'm too old to be spending that much on another watch...

Also, that 114270 has become so special to me through the years and taking it in for its first full service was strange feeling.

I forgot to tell the sales lady to put "No Polish" on the ticket, so I will be stopping by tomorrow to make sure it's on the ticket.

I want my Explorer to be au naturel.

In other words, they had to prise it from your wrist Grady!

Would you have been tempted to buy if the SD had been available in stainless steel, at around the price of the YM11 Regatta? As to appearance of the watch, I find the fluted bezel more suitable associated with the jubilee braclet. Perhaps a little of an earlier style?

Saying no to polishing is my plan too, Grady. I don't want the evidence of their history to vanish, although I can understand why some feel otherwise.

Looks great on you, I too found it a little large but loved the choco and RG combo so the DDII was best for me.

I don't know how old you are but when I get older is probably when I will actually have the money to drop 40k on a watch. I can always sell it to pay for the nursing home if necessary.

You are never too old, but an Explorer is far more elegant, that watch is way too busy for my liking, but I guess it's fun.

I tried that SkyDweller as well, I didn't like it one bit. Sure the quality is amazing but found it way too big and top heavy, I do have relatively small wrists though.
