nice collection- i think the mega pixel on your camera determines the quality of the pictures- thus the more mega pixels the clearer your picture becomes close up- Check what mega pixel you have- i think for good close ups you would need anything over 5- or maybe thats just me and my dreadful photography skills.

When you have such great subjects as you have it's hard to take bad pictures. Toph is right regarding megapixels. A quality digital SLR with a macro lense does not hurt either. Nice collection!

Nice family you have there

I think you need to get closer to the watches though for future pictures. Try different arrangements so you can get closer and still get them all in the same shot

That was one of the problems. I thought about setting them up 12 o'clock high.

Another problem is preventing reflections/shadows. I turned the flash off my camera and used separate lighting, but that only worked so-so, as you can see.

I also used the macro setting on my 5 Mp digicam, but it is not an SLR.

I even indexed all the bezels, although they are almost never that way in real life.

Oh well, it only took about 40 shots to get this one; I'll keep experimenting. "Film" is cheap in the 21st century.

Thanks all for the compliments.

Actually it is the resolution that determines how well photos turn out, I am a sport photographer for the local newspaper and I have a 4.2 MP Nikon D2H which gets great shots, the resolution is around 2300x1500 I think, but you could have a high MP with low resolution, it all depends on the make of the camera and quality
