Rolex Service for my yr2000 President WG
Good morning all - I was going to bring my watch in for a full service and possibly an upgrade?? My watch has the black stick dial on it and I was hoping that when i sent it in for service that they could upgrade the dial to the newer version black w lume stick dial and updated lume hands. Does anyone know if they will do this if i send it in thru my local AD? Thanks - Andrew

OK, thank you for the post.... but I just want to clarify. YOU don't think that the lume stick dial is an upgrade or are you saying that I should not REFER to it as an upgrade when I go to the AD?

You, of course, can call it anything you want and change it to anything you want. You simply should be aware of the ins and outs of dial/hand changes.

This is simply WRONG in my mind,......but Rolex doesn't care about the financial implications to YOU. Their "procedures" certainly haven't stopped original used or new parts showing up on ebay and elsewhere, although that's the intent I suppose. In the end you loose....... ........and you think the US Gooberment bends you over! Might be better to try to source the dial and hands yourself (in the very markets Rolex policy seeks to eliminate),.....and then find a competent watch service repairman to do the swap and service. Some shops may even be able to source the new parts with contacts they have made over the years. This way you don't lose the value of your original parts, and the watch can conceivable be returned to fully original at some later time if desired. .....at least that's the way I'd go........ |
