Newbie - Deepsea dried with hairdrier

Hello to everybody :D

I have a question that can't make me sleep. I had my first Rolex since 10 days and I washed and dried it with my hairdrier to avoid water mark

10 max 15 seconds, the watch become very hot on my hand: have I damaged something (rubber, oil, lubricant, springs...)?

thank you!!

These watches are pretty sturdy, designed to take some serious abuse.
If you could still hold it in your hand I'm pretty sure it was not hot enough to be a cause of concern.

your watch will be just fine, although I've never had "water marks" on my watch before and imagine they'd wipe off easier with a microfiber than blow drying the thing.

Hot enough not to burn when held would be maybe 150 degrees F tops?

Parts that would fry first would be the elastomers and that isn't hot enough to be an issue. I'd imagine leaving your watch on your the dashboard of your car in some warmer climates would get it hotter and I still would not expect any permanent damage.

If you put it in the freezer immediately it will reverse the damage. 😁😁

But really, it's fine. Unless you dry your hair with a blowtorch.

Ummm...the user name is Mister Satan and his question is about his watch being hot. Yeah. Right. Okie dokie. You'll excuse me for not taking this seriously. At all. Really. Very kind members on this board though. And, in my humble opinion, some (AKA-Mister Satan) with some serious attention deficiency issues.

No. Whatever you do, do not fall asleep... If you stop swinging your wrist for the next 48 hours your watch will surely disintegrate...

Hang on. You hairdryered your watch? Really? Should I be doing that? I missed that page in the manual.

I'd imagine leaving your watch on the dashboard of the car would very soon result in it finding a new owner....

I think you (and the watch) will be fine. Really.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but next time you wash your watch, try a soft, lint-free cloth to dry it. I know...it sounds preposterous when you think of a drying solution compared to a blow dryer, but give it a whirl anyway.

And where did you come up with your user name?
