Is the 16660 vintage

Hi, this may sound like a stupid question, but is the 16660 classed as vintage or not, and if not when will it fall into the vintage category?

Thanks in advance

I would say it's on the cusp - certainly the earlier matte-dialed examples would be considered vintage by many.

Isn't 30 years a good benchmark for vintage. I would also regard the early matt dials with tritium markers as vintage.

30 years is vintage in my book. Any other method just causes too much confusion, IMO.

Normally I would consider 30 years a good indicator of a vintage watch (matte, tritium), but I am having trouble with including white gold surround

Yes, it does lack the look of a vintage watch, probably because it bears such a striking resemblance to the SD watches of today. Now a 1665 Great White from only 3 or 4 years earlier is a completely different beast, that is vintage in my book.

Matte (or glossy gilt) dials with NO metal surrounds of the 5 minute markers equals the cutoff point for vintage IMO.

Love Triple 6 SDs - really would like to add one to do with my 16800 at some point.
