Daniel JeanRichard TV Screen Grand Calendar
Hey guys,
This just arrived yesterday and by far, I think its the best deal in watches that you can find online. Let me explain: Price: $1400 This is priced in Oris, Longines, Baume territory and, having owned both Oris and Baume, I can honestly say that this is far better designed and finished. It's also presented in a nice box with a separate box for the papers and another plush green leather-like covered box for the watch. I once bought a Rolex Air-King for $3400 and it was presented in a PLASTIC box. At that price, I got a Triple Date Grand Calendar watch powered by an ETA 2824-2 base + a Jaquet 3105 calendar module. And the case is all stainless steel, extremely well finished. It also came with a sapphire glass crystal, plus a crocodile leather strap with a proprietary deployment clasp. As you can see, JeanRichard did not cut corners with the materials or manufacture. With these specs, you should be finding this watch in the $2500-3000 range. Case Design: The case is described as "TV Screen" shaped. And I concur, it does look like a screen from an old tube-type tv. I've been looking for a square or rectangle shaped watch for a while, just to mix things up but I never found one I liked. This design bridges the square-round shape perfectly for me. It's also finished in a very high polish with no blemishes whatsoever. That said, it's a very classic-looking, yet masculine design that's well suited for formal or business wear. It's truly an original from Daniel JeanRichard. Features: Again, this is a triple date watch. So you have the Month and Day displayed near the 12 and the Date is displayed with a pointer. To adjust anything, you just need to press on the 3 buttons on the side of the watch. This is by far the easiest way to adjust things compared to relying solely on the crown where you have to pull it out part way and turn it this way or that - and once you miss, you have to go through the whole painstaking process. I'm sure buyers of watch winders have one or two triple date watches in their collection. But, even with all that info, the numbers and letters are presented in a very unobtrusive way, everything's subtle and the watch retains it's classic vibe. Parting Thoughts: Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the watch. In fact, when I opened the box, I felt as though I've struck gold. That's how stunning it is in person. Had this watch cost $3000, I still would've bought it with a huge smile on my face. I still can't believe they're letting these watches go for so low a price, considering all the features, the fit and finish. It's an absolute steal, really. I hope you'll excuse the pics, the case is covered with fingerprint smudges. But, trust me, the finish is exquisite.

Very nice, easily readable and the "TV screen" shape looks like a good balance between square and rectangular. Congrats on your find.

You forgot the most important part - JeanRichard is a 'younger brother' company of Girard Perregaux, and we all know how sweet that brand is. Same components, same stringent quality standards, and most are made under the same roof. Very, very nice watch. I love the Bressel line.

Actually this was an "accidental" find. I was looking for silver dialed air king type watches and trying some out in Glorietta (of all places), I happened to pass by a display of DJR's and tried a double retrograde. The thing the wow'ed me was the case design (and the half million peso price)! Out of curiosity I saw a bunch on amazon for these prices and ordered one that same day. Haha farthest thing from a silver dial air king!

Was messing around with my phone's camera settings and got this: (not bad considering it was taken in a moving car!)

I agree. Very underrated. Craftsmanship is great and now they have their own movements already.
