swap: 114200 (Air King) -> 15200 (Date)
Hi fellows,
I need an advice...would you swap your 2014 Air King white 3/6/9 dial with a mint new 2005 15200 blue sticks dial Date? I know...the AK has a great story...it is an icon of Rolex...but that blue dial really makes me feel mad!

Why does it make you mad? It's a chance to buy another Rolex.

I would not as I own a white engine/bezel 3-6-9 and agree with zama and hogwld; do it if you must to solve the itch.
I'd miss the white and uncluttered dial. |

May be you are right. The only reason I would change is the dial color...but may be I will regret my choice in the near future...

For me, it's a "no", mainly because in my view you'd be losing out on the improvements made since 2005 in the case, bracelet and clasp design. So although in one respect you would be "upgrading" by going from an Air King to a Date, this would be a downgrade in many ways as well, except for the added functionality of the date complication. But at the end of the day, what matters most is what you like the most. There's nothing whatsoever wrong with the old pre-2005 five-digit models, I've worn them myself without any complaint. It's a factor to consider though, that you would have the old non-solid bracelet, the old clasp, and the thinner brushed lugs instead of what you have with your six-digit model Air King. |

No, I wouldn't. No dates are cooler anyway.
