Rolex Melbourne authenticity steps??

Hi all,

As some of you may know, I have tried to sell my TT DJ, in anticipation for a GMTII some time soon!!

I have had one potential buyer ask to have the watch verified by RSC Melbourne (since no papers).

I want to know the following:-

1) what is the usual process for anyone who has dealt with RSC interstate?
2) Will RSC send the watch back to me, or direct to the next person upon my request?
3) Is there an email address of whom I can contact?

I cant seem to find on their website and RSC S'pore told me that they done have one seems that Rolex can do biz without an email, which is an integral part of communications.

Thanks in advance guys!

As far as I know, you just send the watch to RSC, asking for authentication. The cost of authentication it is usually US $ 150.

RSC would send the watch back to you.

The best-placed guy to answer this is John (jac67) - he's had it done before at RSC Melbourne, although as a buyer.

Also, give them a ring. The lady is very friendly and told me all the things I need to bring in for authentication. Unfortunately since I'm local I can't advise interstate procedures. For me, it was:
1. leave the watch there
2. they give you a receipt and you wait for 2 business days
3. take the receipt back and pay the $100. They'll give you back the watch, a "service report" and a letter stating if they think it's genuine or not.

Thank you James.

Rolex Melbourne charged me A$77 (inlcuding GST) to authenticate my watch in writing.

Give them a call.

Thanks for that, John. I remembered it was less than $100 but I couldn't recall the exact figure.
