I like EXPLORER II but DJ II is classier watch however for extreme sports I would pick the first one

I have both, and agree with comments.

Oysterlock on the Explorer vs. Oysterclasp on the DJII is where I notice a difference, but neither is going to fall off your wrist.

One for dress/work, one for play.

IMO an oyster case is an oyster case, therefore except for depth rating on the dive models one is just as tough as the other.

This is a personal choice thing..

They both use the same movement except the DJII has a date. Performance and "robustness" would be essentially the same..

Personally, I would have gone the other way. That's why Rolex makes the two - choice.
