I legitimately miss my watch!

I bought my first Rolex, a 16610 about two months ago. Since then, it has been a very important part of my wardrobe. I've grown to really love the thing. I bought it pre-owned from an AD, and was given a one year warranty. I noticed it was running a bit fast (outside COSC standards), so I brought it in to my AD who advised it could take "up to 4 weeks". That was two weeks ago. Today, I got a call (while I was out, far from my AD) that my watch was ready, but by the time I was close, they were closed, and they are closed tomorrow. I guess I'll have to wait until Monday.

Point of this long, poorly written mess is that I don't know how once you have a watch you love, you can part from it! I used to laugh when I saw comments here about needing a second watch for when one is getting serviced, and now I think it's totally legitimate.

Rolex, you have corrupted me.

That's a good kind of corruption to have! Love the 16610.

16610 was my first Rolex and my one daily wearer for years and years and years... THEN... many years later, for reasons I still don't understand... the "madness" "bug" "affliction" "addiction" etc of the "collector" consumed me as well.... and after that... yeah... you are, as they said above, "screwed"... "mad" ..."corrupted"

PS. But yes! of course, you should have at least two!

Submariners are particularly addictive.
Always looks/feels right.

I got my DJ first but my 16610 was not long after the DJ is gone, but the sub survives, good to have a spare or 10 just in case. I bought mine used from an AD as well who on sold customers Rolex for them.

Got my baby back today!!!!

I do want a new watch, eventually. First stop, upgrading my 16610 to a 116610.

Bah, it isn't upgrading, you are just trading. I have a 16610 and a 116610(lv). They wear very different to me. I'd keep that 16610. They aren't making them anymore and they are great.

I've been on this forum for a few years now and it is quite funny how many things you were once told and dismissed by the old timers/enablers/devils turn out to be true.
