Congratulations on the fortuitous find. As a new owner of a similar late model 16570, I hope you aren't saying it's really a girl's watch, though. 😉

Haha not at all, I figure that it's a great legacy item. One of my other relatives wears a Polar Explorer II as her day to day, when I asked her about it she said it's so much more classy as a casual watch than the Michael Kors oversized watches women wear these days.

Speaking of which, I saw an interview he did in a business mag and the man himself wears a Submariner!

And sorry for the typos, the autocorrect on my phone is a bit psychotic.

Nice! I think the Explorer IIs with the 3186 are a solid watch. I have a polar. I need to get a black face though.

Couldn't agree with you more. It's a nice change from the other watches I have. This is much more suited to my day to day than the SDc. Work will have me out of town again soon and I'll be putting the GMT compilation to good use then. It's a bit more under the radar than the newer version too.

Good luck with your 3186 hunt, hope it ends up falling in your lap how mine did.
