16760 Dial Question
I was in a watch store this week and took a look at a Rolex 16760 from 1984 with a Coke bezel and 3085 movement.
Here's the odd part - the watch had a "stick dial"...or "error dial" with the "2" written as "||" instead of "II". Is this correct? The movement, bracelet, basically everything but the dial seemed right. Any input would be appreciated. Bryant |

Service dial. The sticks are being used as service dials, had one in my hand recently, had just come from the rsc with a new dial and hands. Sticks all the way.

Thanks for the info. Does this affect the value in any way? I really liked the watch and the jeweler showed me the 3085 movement which I had never seen before. It was in pristine condition.

Original always trumps service dials.

I recently acquired a 16760 with a stick dial , few members mentioned that it might bring down the resale value.
I actually got service papers showing that it was changed during service. but, it's all individual perspective. if everything checks out to be authentic and you like the watch , go for it.. Also read from older posts that 1984 was when the 16760 was launched or was it 1983? and those watches are rare since it had 'Oyster Perpetual' mentioned in the dial instead of 'Oyster perpetual Date' .
