Hello all from sunny Queensland Australia
I am a new-comer and don't know to much about watches in general!! So l will have many questions - some silly and others even sillier!!
Great site - very infomative.
I am looking to buy a new or preowned rolex - either 1: submariner; 2: submariner aniversary model; or 3: seadweller.
I would appreciate any advise on either of these 3 models to assist in my decision making.

Hi Bob, and welcome to TRF

Honestly, my advice is go to your nearest AD and try all three on (don't forget new Sub non date, better hurry on the SD before there all gone from the AD displays). Out of the four, one will leave a mark on your heart or mind. Then go back again another day, and try them on again. See if you have changed your mind. Make your first purchase at your AD, you won't regret it, warenty and piece of mind .

Forget Flea Bay for your first purchase , unless you have really done your homework. There are desparate people out there who don't care who they rip off or hurt . The internet is like the Wild Wild West, don't be surprissed when nobody cares that you gave someone 10 grand plus, and recieved nothing , especially if you transferred funds to another country. If you want to purchase on line, please post any questions about anybodies reputation in the WATCH OUT section here.

Also check out the classifieds here, but remember, buy the seller first, then the watch .

Other than that, good luck in your hunt, don't worry what people say about any of the models mentioned (honestly, you can't go wrong with any ), get what's comfortable on your skin, and meets your needs.

Rob l live 550klm away from nearest AD.
So asking questions here will help me narrow my selection. I guess one of my main queries is - apart from personal preferences with the look/feel of the watches - would any one of those watches mentioned hold it's value better than the others - or go up in value?

All 3 watches above are superb time-pieces and do have at least ONE thing in common - the amazing and very dependable 3135 calibre movement.

Other than that, it would depend on your personal preferance. I love the SS Sub-date, some prefer the green bezel look of the LV.....whereas many here prefer the flat cyrstal, no-cyclops look of the SD.
