You just described my datejust. Stretched, scratched and no service in 10yrears. Its in great shape just like the wrist it shares with the owner.

Those things are severe.

I used to get annoyed when I saw a dirty watch. I'm talking about watches that have probably never been washed. Dirty oily residue all over the crystal.

Never done more than simply suggest that people wash their watch. Enough people scoffed at the idea of washing a watch that I don't say anything anymore.

That's not an exaggeration at all. The idea of getting a watch wet is as crazy as asking some people to throw it out the window.

Most people don't care. They don't even know what servicing is. They have an expensive watch because it's an expensive watch.

Best to let people be.

If it was abused, I'm saddened but worn and enjoyed, glad for them.

Every time I see an unworn Rolex, unfired gun or a corvette that has never gone over 70mph. I think. What a waste.

They were built to be used. Honest wear is a sign of money well spent and used.

Would much rather see a watch worn than a deepsea that the owner is afraid to go into the shower with, but neither effect me in the slightest😎

I posted this on another thread earlier today...
My dad always wore a DJ TT. He had it on while he worked on cars, tractors and every other project he took on. It looked like it had been through a war. Every 5 years or so, he'd send it in for service. It would come back looking great.
His line was, "if you're afraid to wear it, you can't afford to have it".

I like it when I see a well seasoned Rolex in the wild. I know it has been used for something else besides desk diving. I have used my diving, surfing, camping, rock climbing and mowing the yard.

What does bother me is when the triangle on the bezel is not lined up on 12 o'clock position. I want to ask them what the hell are they timing! 😜

I only really care if I'm buying the watch. In the wild I'm happy to see them in all conditions. Rock and roll and all that.

Bother, Annoy, Amuse?

Well, it's none of my business if a guy marries a Victoria's Secret supermodel and then feeds her enough to have her gain 200 lbs.
But I suppose at that point, I'd probably find myself appreciating the BNIB supermodels more though
