Watch Demagnetizing - Odd results

Hi All,

I've never demagnetized a watch before so thought I'd start here to see what you all think.

I purchased an inexpensive demagnetizer from eBay that I've seen others report success with.

That said, I think it worked as when I run my vintage Omega Seamaster DeVille by a compass it doesn't move.

That said, when I run the demagnetizer with the watch it causes the second hands to jump forward erratically...and sometimes it causes it to pause for a split second.

Is this expected or normal...or could this perhaps be indicative of some other issue?
