20mm sounds right to me. That's what my sub and gmt2 is.

I bought a bunch of nato straps from here:
http://www.broadarrow.net/maratac.htm

and the cool wild colored ones here:
http://www.crownandbuckle.com/straps...#page=0&top=1&

Play around with the pull down menus, there are hundreds of different straps.

good luck and welcome to the forum!

20 mm is the right size. But there is only one "Bond" nato strap and that is the explained here http://rolexblog.blogspot.com/2009/0...-comes-to.html. The rest are just Nato straps.

It appears that I am mistaken. The original navy, green, and burgundy Bond nato strap has been replaced in the new Spectre movie with the black and grey NATO strap on the omega 300.

Always wondered if the MIL-strap Connery wore was actually black ( as the main color, with the thin line of burgundy, and green ), or was it dark blue ? It looks black to me in the pictures I've seen of it. Plus what I've researched it's a toss up between navy blue and black. Anyone have an "actual" answer ? lol

I've got a bond style strap from Maratec, fantastic quality, but the color is black ( not navy blue ). The other company that makes it in navy blue is Geckota ( fantastic quality as well, located in the UK ). However, the strips are too close together where as the original bond strap the straps were thinner and much farther apart.

Honestly, they are all about the same as long as you get one that is sewn and not glued together. Sometimes they are called "premium". Even the glued ones are some cheap that they are basically disposable when they become worn or dirty. The only exceptions might be the higher end ones such as the new Omega ones, Tudor, etc.

Check out cheapestnatostraps.com, natostrapco.com, crownandbuckle.com to name a few.

Also, the strap that Connery wore in Goldfinger was an RAF type strap rather than a NATO.

And as is clear, it is an undersized strap; so 18 mm for a 20mm watch is about right.

I seriously doubt the close-up shot of the watch was even Connery. It was probably his stand-in or a crew member. Insert shots are a pain and the actor usually has better things to do. They are often shot weeks after the scene in question, too.

OK, my expert opinions. C&B and cheapestnatostraps and Panatime and others sell the EXACT SAME 'Premium' (sewn instead of welded construction) NATO straps. I bought my Admiralty Grey and Black brushed straps from cheapestnatostraps because unsurprisingly, they were the cheapest. You just missed their 30% off BF and CM sale, BUT if you buy 5 or more straps (any straps from their site) you can get an extra 20% off.

Phoenix makes their own straps AFAIK, and Tudor/Omega source them from various mills. But aside from those three, most places get them from the exact same source.
