Finally in: Birth year Rolex secured
It's been a great year so I decided to get myself a late Christmas present: A 1972 5513 (my birth year).
I waited to find one with a nice dial and hands. Dial listed as a serif, but I think this is a non-Serif which fits the 3,4xx,xxx serial. Case is a bit beat, not too polished, and has no corrosion. The bezel moves with no click as it should, but I didn't notice a need push down to turn it (although it moves much easier when I do apply some pressure). Insert seems to me to be a MKI has I see small serifs on the 50 and 40? Anyhow, I'd like to thank you all for giving me the bug and knowledge to make a wise decision on my first vintage Rolex. Hope it won't be the last! |
