As to why I listed it (besides not knowing the rules of Ebay well enough despite my long term using it) :
It has been handled by Tom Doan, was enough for me (as to it being authentic Rolex, noone can say on the Tiffany) He is simply not well versed in Vintage as I am told not many are, maybe 3 in the states being really good at it. His certification apparently does not go deeply into vintage watches. I know you guys think a 2 year old wrote the Tiffany and again that is your educated opinion. The issue is I have others who have seen it who feel it is just as likely real Tiffany as not. Please study all of the Tiffany dials, especially rare birds and oldies to get an idea of why someone might feel that way. You guys have an amazing amount of knowledge, just try to understand not everyone knows you or your credentials when coming on the forum, so though I trust, I don't 100% believe without a lot of research. I am sorry if it seemed I did not trust your opinions as that was not my intent. Was just to keep educating myself until I was convinced with explanations not just a few words off the cuff. For instance I had a guy come to my home and look at my 'stuff'. He was a friend of a friend, I was told he was very very much of an expert on Rolex watches . He missed 2 fakes and some other stuff. It does not always mean you are an expert just because you say you are. Tom threw the fakes aside immediately, did not even have to open them. This other self proclaimed expert missed them entirely. What if I had stopped at him? I did not though, I kept going on those 2 until Tom said they were fakes, thereby saving someone from possibly buying it from me as I would not have known if I believed my first 'expert". I have a set of Beatles autographs here, trust me , same deal! Its enough to boggle your mind. There were so many changes in their siggys over the years that it makes it almost impossible, yet again (and the one guy who knows won't authenticate anymore, is not taking new business).....just like this old watch I wish you all well, the watch has a home and it won't be available . I have no doubt if it ever is you all will find out lol. |
