Old Rolex questions

Hello, first post here, please bear with me. I received this watch from my father who found it on the streets of Manhattan many years back.
I have no idea what happened to the band or bezel.
It's a 5513 with a 987232 serial number.

First off, what year was it made? Secondly, what is the correct bezel and band, and can they be sourced anywhere? Leads? I tried two indie shops, neither had the parts, though they offered to clean the watch.

The watch does not work, it needs a cleaning and mechanical going over. Should I send bring it back to Rolex and do they the original parts?

Lot's of questions, thanks for any and all help.

Mike

Got a photo? Take it to Rolex first, maybe they can still help reunite it with the guy who lost it, if it was reported lost or stolen.

Watch is roughly 1963, should be a gilt chapter ring dial. A very desirable watch if the dials still original and in good shape

Happy New Year!

I plan to take this to the Rolex store in Manhattan within the next two weeks for appraisal.

Beautiful meters first gilt dial, this watch is worth fixing and I wouldn't entertain selling it until after its fixed. It's a very rare dial in great condition. Worth quite a bit more than your average matte dialed meters first

Wow what a find! A shame the minute hand lume is missing. Would love to see a new Crystal, bezel and insert on this! Will transform the watch. Congrats.

I had no idea as I've been sitting on this watch for at least 20 years. It was tossed in a box with my silver coins, until I read a thread on a non watch forum, and decided to investigate further.
Thanks again, for all the help folks.

Nice find. That dial looks great. This would be a fun project to take on.
