Arrived 1967 Sub :-)
Good afternoon all
Well my search for a birth year submariner ended with my taking delivery of this one today It's even better in the flesh than the photos and I guess that's down to the fact that in real life its only 40mm's wide rather than 22 inches on my monitor lol. Large pictures obviously accentuate the imperfections that a 50 year old watch is bound to have but thankfully they are imperceptible and forgiven by the human eye when it’s on the wrist. According to the case back it’s a 4th quarter '67 and from the research I've done appears as genuine an example as I can find. Apparently the pearl has been changed at some stage and no doubt other work would have been carried out and I welcome your thoughts as you guys know a hell of a lot more than I do as this is my first venture into the Rolex Owners club. I was keen to get the original 7206 bracelet even though I never intended to wear it with it as I personally prefer the vintage leather look. As you can see from the pics I've already swapped them. I was surprised at how light the 7206 is and that has put a question mark in my mind but apparently it’s genuine. It's had a couple of links removed at some stage as it has 11 and I believe they came with 13. In case I ever decide to revert to wearing the steel I will try to source a link or two. As the strap is tapered I guess it’s the 15mm links at the buckle end that I need?! Any and all comments welcomed as it’s all an education. 2016-01-08 11.46.40.jpg 2016-01-08 11.48.27.jpg 2016-01-08 13.46.41.jpg 2016-01-08 13.09.59.jpg 2016-01-08 13.32.55.jpg |

Great Pickup Old Man!
(being a birth year watch you are slightly older, haha) Now take a photo on a sunny day in the shade of a tree ;)

Dial, case, and hands look good Are you planning to restore the luminous pearl or leave it alone?
Congrats on the watch; great way to start 2016! |

Being new to ownership, I haven't thought about it so I'd welcome your thoughts please. What could be done & how? Thanks. |
