Hello! I am new here and need your connoisseurs help, pls!

Hi everyone! I am not an expert or collector. There has been this Rolex in the family for as long as I can remember and it has now come to my possession. Overall, it's features are puzzling me:
I do not want to sell, just to understand what I've got. It is a 6238 /no tachymeter on bezel or dial. Has the bezel been lost? Is the dial not original? Everyone I have spoke to until now has not been able to properly identify it. Also, the dial and sub dials have different colours, which is not supposed to happen until the 6239, right? It says oyster cosmograph, no sigmas next to the t swiss t. Serial nr 122xxxx. What might be the case here? Thank you.

Why didn't you post photos of the actual watch?

Without photos of the actual watch in question there is no way anyone can help you.

Or you could take it to a Rolex dealer or service center

The photo is pretty dark and inconclusive, I think.

I know that it had a leather bracelet originally.

.

This site could help you : www.vintagedaytona

6238 comes with a smooth bezel, like yours. It's conform.

Your dial may have been changed. The "OYSTER" on it ask question.
