The 16610LV is one of the most beautiful watches ever made
The 116610LV looks ugly to me Personal taste I guess :)

I have both and love the LVc. Was considering selling the LV as it is a pure safe queen, but with all the hype building up around vintage I think I'll keep it. Shoot, a mint complete set with all papers/boxes and the RSC service card where the movement was serviced (no polishing) is sweet!! It is a shame to not wear it, though. At least I can pull it out of the safe and drool over it anytime I want. Wait, is it safe to drool on a Rolex?!?!

Easy. 16610lv with Glidelock bracelet
The one true keeper I have. Quality of modern bracelet is undisputed. Putting it on the 5 digit evens up the contest considerably. Ste (Apologies for poor photo) |

Other than the limited edition aspect of the LV, there is no element of the LV I prefer over the LVc (lugs included).

LVC but wish it had the black dial just a little too much green for me. I just love the ceramic bezel. I know always a mod to accomplish but to much work finding parts.
Maybe the LV with modern bracelet I would change my mind on the bezel and be fine with it. |

Had one. Was never comfortable - 116610. Big, bulky and very thick. Sold it asap.

Last year when I was on the hunt for my first ever Rolex I was at a place here in San Diego that had a NOS 16610LV. I was so close to pulling the trigger on it!
I resisted since I knew I needed an all black watch as my first. BUT let me tell you a nice 16610LV that has been serviced or is NOS is amazing. Hulk.. eh for me. |

the 16610LV is bad boy in original form only...... the 'tin' bracelet is part of the '50th' heritage... the new bracelet belongs on the ceramic LV |

I have the LV and I absolutely love it. I'd sell my spleen before parting with this watch. I wear it on a NATO fairly often (the watch that is) to mix it up and lots of people I work with are always noticing even though I don't flash it about. So far as I am aware, the spleen approves also. I find the dimensions of the classic case to be more elegant somehow. But hey it's all about personal choice. I think if I was going to get a black bezel sub I'd go for the no-date ceramic one.

I thought about flipping my LV but could not bring myself to do it. With that said, I want an LVC too. At first I thought the lugs were too bulky but after wearing my 114060 for I few months I'm fine with the lugs, it feels so solid on the wrist.

I'm the proud owner of one 16610LV. IMO is a piece of art and the model RLX decided to represent the 50th anniversary.
It's an icon! I bet for 5 digits!!! |

I am old school on this, sorry but no ceramic bezels for me. I don't care if the bracelet is upgraded.
I look at the face of the watch 100 times a day so that's what is important to me.

I prefer the LVC in every single aspect except for the potential to appreciate in value.

LVC. LV's aluminum insert in green made the watch looks cheap.

Tough call. Both have their merits.
I honestly don't see the bracelet as an issue. While the new style is solid and less prone to stretch, the older one have proven to be reliable for years. Having said that if I were to go back to wearing a five digit Rolex everyday it'd be a 16610LV.
