Red Sub, what do you think??

So, I've been looking for the right red sub and this one popped up on the forum for sale. Any advice on the watch would be greatly appreciated...

It looks very nice. I would want closer inspection of the dial though. Second pic has the slightest hint of paint bubbling - not sure if this would get worse but it would be good to know in advance whether this is the case.

Thanks, the seller sent me anther pic in different lighting and there seems to be some bubbling. Is this an issue?

I have a great suggestion, trust me it works. Why don't you grab your phone and call the seller and let Kevin (s2kev) answer your questions or concerns.

Geez. I see people ask opinions on vintage watches in this forum daily, and you've been very helpful and answered many of them. I did call Kevin. He seems like a great guy and was extremely helpful. Just asking people their opinion and what they think of it.

That is great to hear. It's good to read that you have talked with the seller which is always the best place to start.

And, speaking of opinions, what's up with the post regarding a bubbling on the dial. I might need a new monitor but I can't see that anywhere...something I'm sure the seller would have divulged.

Looks great to me:

- nice open 6 dial with matching hands and patina
- don't see "bubbling" in the photos provided
- nice insert and pearl with balanced fade
- case in nice condition with a proper polish
- bracelet looks newer (?), but that's buyer's preference

I haven't seen this listing, but I imagine it's around the 13k mark...

A great piece if it's in your budget imo...

Looks like an attractive watch with plenty of strong points and to a degree lack of CG thickness making it a good/great but not one of a kind example imho.

Looks like an all-around great red 1680, with nice patina and a good case. The price is high, but maybe that's what the market is nowadays in the crazy world of vintage Rolexes. Good luck either way!

Is the bubbling just left of the S in Superlative? Everything else looks very nice to me but if there was bubbling it would have me a touch concerned. I'd wait to hear what the experts have to say about it, I'm not qualified for that at all :) Great looking example though!

I was wondering the same thing. And does it continue to get worse and does it lower value?

Absolutely nothing wrong with asking opinions from others - in fact, you should absolutely be encouraged to do so in addition to speaking with the seller.

Thanks, my thoughts as well. Unfortunately it took me a little too long to decide on this one and I missed out on it. I'm sure the right one will come along though.

Hey Jude, (no pun intended)

Too bad you missed out.
It happens from time to time that people read these kind of posts and are drawn to the watch themselves in the proces. I will post some wrist shots once she arrives (Just Kidding!!)

Never the less, I am sure the right one will come along shortly. The search is also part of the fun!
If one door closes, another will open...

Good luck with the hunt!

Looks like a nice red sub you really need to have to see it in person get a hands on look as well as Loupe check it to see if there's anything not to your satisfaction at the right price and condition it would be ok I wouldn't say it's the best example ive ever seen but not the worst either really depends on what you want me personally I like things to be crisp sharp as perfect as possible others don't mind it's personal taste really but I can say vintage reds are stunning.
