Maintenance question
Just went to wind up my '66 Gilt and the winder felt like there was a tooth or more missing. It will still wind up, but jumps a gap in the rotation. The time sets like normal, this is just in the wind up.
Wondering if this is an issue that needs to be resolved immediately? Should I be worried about any loose parts in the movement? Best, Kris |

Sounds like you broke some teeth on your crown wheel.
Was it stiff to wind? The thing is the gears are very brittle. The 1030 are worse. The reversing wheels get sticky and stiff...and then too much force is required to manually wind the watch through the automatic train and you lunch a tooth or two. How long since it was serviced? If it's close I would have it done now. |

Kris - if in Southern CA, ABC watchwerks is local to you, and is strongly regarded in ratings on this forum.
