Thoughts on potential Rolex Purchase

Theres a gentleman local to me looking to sell his Rolex Explorer II. He says its been recently serviced about a year ago. It seems to be a T series, so im assuming its from about 1996?(correct me if im wrong please) Below are pictures of the actual watch. I dont know as much as id like to (yet) about Rolex so i was wondering if you guys could let me know what a fair price for this watch would be? It does not come with box or papers. Also do you know why it doesnt say "SWISS MADE" at the 6 o clock? Thanks in advance!

Tritium dial with T-serial. So I believe "SWISS T<25" is correct.

The "Swiss" and "Swiss Made" dials were after ~1998 and so the dial is proper for this ~1995 era watch.

Very common dial. Keep in Mind this dial does not have luminova like the more recent, so it will not illuminate.
Check recent sales for an idea of price and good luck

Only using my iPhone here, but that bezel looks wrong from where I'm sitting. Case looks poorly polished, too.

You can search on watchrecon or chrono24 to get a sense about the price. Based on the conditions of the watch, $3300 ~ $3700 should be reasonable.

Im thinking the bezel was switched out, improperly at that given the scratches on the lug. Looks like it was marred up trying to pop the bezel off.

Thanks! I did use those websites and ebay but felt i couldnt find anything accurate. Felt those prices were a bit high.

Agree that something looks weird with bezel. And someone took a screwdriver to those lugs.

Take a second look. The direction of brushes and the fonts of the numbers on bezel both seem wrong to me, when comparing to another 1995 Exp II: http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/...e.jpg~original

The bezel looks off to me ( aftermarket?)
The case has been heavily polished and damaged by removing the bezel
I don't like how the link next to the clasp looks like, the bracelet is eventually aftermarket as well?

Unless you are getting it for less than 2 k, don't buy it!

Thanks for the help all! I greatly, greatly appreciate it. I have decided to wait for another deal to come. I think that would be the wise decision at this time given its condition and how Frankenstein it really could be lol

bezel is def wrong and so is the clasp (thats from a sub).
