It is right between the 144 and 149 size wise.. Ala 146 Le Grand that it is.

But weight wise it really has some heft.

The 144 is 0.6 oz
The 149 is 1.1oz
and the Blue Hour is double the 149 at 2.2oz

It is very well balanced in my hand especially when posted, but feels really different in my shirt pocket.

I have bought several MB's used/vintage with both the 14k 585 nib's and 18k 750 nib's. Now that I have three new MB's I have to say newer is definitely MUCH better!

I'm keeping the Blue Hour and 146 but I have a new Solitaire Doue Signum I bought in early December I will make someone a STELLAR deal on. I just can not write as neatly with the Classique size MB pens. My hands are a little big but my fingers are really long.

PM me or call 314/422-0388 if interested. It is like new in box with papers.

All the legrande are heavy. Only downside for me is I prefer refills. Love the idea of refilling ink but hate all the inky fingers. Can never get it right

I'm sure you will enjoy the uniqueness of it. What did you think of the weight?

It is just over twice as heavy as my MB resin Le Grand. I always post when writing but that helps with the balance on this pen I think. I know some say they don't like touching metal on a pen but the epoxy on the BH does not feel anything like cold metal to me!

My pen is still at MB service center in Texas having the M nib replaced with an EF. They tell me the EF is their most popular nib size. Yet they don't sell the pen that way. Go figure????

Yes, that does seem weird about the EF Nibs being the most popular!!!

Maybe the EF Nibs being the most popular nib size has only happened in the last year or so. As approximately 4 or 5 years ago when MontBlanc would have a Spring Sale I picked up four fountain pens that were reduced 40% off of Retail because they had EF Nibs…which happens to be the nib size I prefer(or even smaller)!!!

Sorry to see you are selling your Solitaire Doue Signum…as it's one of my favorite FP's but I do understand(I have very small hands)…..

Good to hear from you again Leo. Yes I wish I had gotten the Solitaire in a Le Grand size. It is an incrediblely pretty pen. I love the feel of the snowflake pattern on the barrel.

I'm really surprised no one has bought it yet.

I suppose the ball point is like putting a quartz movement in a submariner but it simply is what suits my purposes best, hope you all can forgive me:)

Blue.

Nothing wrong with a RB or BP. I can't use a fountain pen at work either because of the environment I'm in. So I have a Pelikan RB.

Looks very nice with the watch.
