I am cautiously optimistic but certainly not banking on it. If they do and, if it comes with the option of a jubilee bracelet, I will once again believe in Santa Claus.

I think it'll come out this year in TT.

Next year in SS.

I am going to be a contrarian and say that a DJ 40mm is NOT introduced this year. Perhaps in the future, but not this year.

It does seem like it would logically follow, however, I am under the impression that the Datejust II sells really well for Rolex. The Datejust line always has but I think the 41mm size has been a big hit in the U.S.

While I acknowledge it is complete conjecture, I've had several Rolex ADs tell me that the 41mm size is what has prevented Rolex from introducing the Jubilee bracelet on the larger model. This was three different ADs over the course of several years. While we know better than to take anything an AD says as Gospel, it does kind of make sense...

Part of me really would like to see the Datejust II resized to 40mm. I plan on purchasing a Datejust II (or 40) when I finish residency this June. If they have a Jubilee option, I would be really excited. While I love a lot of the new dials on the DD40 models, they are definitely more formal than the older DD2 dials. I hope, if the Datejust II becomes 40mm, they keep the sportier dial options offered. I think I'll be happy either way and will make the choice myself depending on the outcome.

I think the DJ2 line sells very well globally, something the DD2 didn't do based on the market it is normally aimed at.

I don't think we will be seeing a new DJ40 model, especially when something sells as well as it does and is favoured by so many.

If it is released, I don't think it will happen this year.

I have a DJ2 that my wife bought me for our wedding day last summer. At that time if I had been able to select between a 36mm, a 40mm or a 41mm, I would have chosen a 40mm. Out of 36mm and 41mm there was no comparison - the 36mm was just too small, on a smooth bezel. (I think a 36mm DJ on a fluted bezel with jubilee bracelet gives it a bigger looking

If a DJ40 came out now though whilst I'm already in ownership of my DJ2, I think the size difference and associated appearance would be too minimal to be worth trading up and switching - it's 1mm and realistically you would need them side by side to see any obvious difference.

Not this this year, maybe not at all. Reason I say this is because the DJII has only been out a few years. I don't see why it would sense to put out yet another size in that line. Personally, I'm thankful Rolex got smart and put out the 41mm DJII. When I first obtained my TT Thunderbird in 1990, it was the perfect size as I had smaller wrist then. I stopped wearing the TBird after I've had 40, 41, 42, and 44mm on my wrist. It just became too small for presence.

I say Rolex should stick with the current sizes in the DJ line. Howver, I would have no objection (but will not buy) if Rolex produced a 40mm DJ. My 2c.

Yeah it's not that cut and dry. As others above have mentioned the DJ2 is a pretty hot seller for Rolex. Not the best ever but still good, definitely more popular than the DD2 was.

Yes, it seems logical that the DJ40 would follow the DD40, but it doesn't seem logical to discontinue the DJ2 as they did the DD2.

I for one hope they do make a DJ40 as I think the proportions are near perfect and much more to my liking than the 36mm and 41mm.
