Which AK would you collect?

Which would you prefer in your collection, new or old style?

I would like to find an Air-King-Date but otherwise happy with my 5501 and 14000m for now.

I would like a mash up of the two. New style case size and old style dial.

I have always loved the airking, but with 8" wrists its hard to pull off the 34mm so i will be getting the 40mm when it its available.i do like the 34mm and if i was smaller i would own one.

I just added a new 114200 yesterday. Has to be one of the most comfortable watches I've owned.

Even with a 6.5 in. wrist the 34 mm seems small. The 34 mm could be worn as an oddity; the 40 mm as a modern watch. One might question if the new 40 is truly an AK.

Too bad the AK wasn't done in a 36-39mm size with a less busy dial!

Those seem to be assigned to the OP set. Now the AK is again unique, differentiated, and elevated.

That's the one I would like to see.
I voted for 34mm in the poll, because I think that the Air King dials
from the 1950/early 60s are some of the most interesting and best looking
dials that Rolex ever produced.

I would say neither but if you forced me i would say new one. Still have no interest in the air king. Not sure why there still making them i guess its tradition.

A little early to say as I've not seen a new one.

I just saw 5500 (I think) on someone's wrist today. It was so gorgeous. So simple. Didn't look small either, just great.

So having not seen a new one yet, I'll say 114200.

The AirKing was done in a 36 mm called the 5504, I believe it was actually referred to has the AirKing/Explorer. Im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong but i did have the AirKing 5504 for quite a few years before regretfully letting it go. A true classic.

Since I have the 39mm OP, the AK is off the table. Similar in many ways, not as nice, to my eye in others.

I have three 34mm AK 5500s and am rebuilding a fourth. I also have one 1500 Date, also 34mm. I absolutely love 34mm Rolexes.
