Thoughts on this Datejust?
Have been looking for a late 70's or early 80's 16014 with a black dial and came across this one. Watch is all original, except for the dial which has been refinished in glossy black. I've always loved the jubilee bracelet and think the glossy black really pops against the stainless steel. It's one I've had my eye on adding to the collection, even though it's not incredibly rare or valuable. Just something about the old Datejusts I really like. In looking closely at the dial, one of the lume dots is covering the T Swiss T at 6 o'clock. I've noticed on some 16014 dials the lume dots are connected to the stick markers, and on others they are separated from the marker. Which is correct? And would you stay away from this refinished dial, or for the price ($2600) just buy, wear and enjoy?

I would look for an all original example at that price

I'd stay away from any refinished dial, especially at that price. There are a lot of vintage DJs out there, many with original, untouched dials.

If everything except the dial checks out, I think the watch is probably worth about $700-900 less than the asking. For me, that would be too much of a premium: I'd rather buy a worse-dialed authentic example and swap the dial myself for a better price.
