Mrs Van D bought this as a gift at Heathrow on her way out to see me last time. She was planning on picking this up for my birthday in August but I had a health scare last month and I think it was a 'relief' purchase.

I suspect most people will prefer the fountain pen but I have two MB FPs (Starwalker rubber and steel, plus one in my Carlo Collodi set) and they seldom see the light of day. I use the Starwalker to sign reports for Court and the Collodi has never had ink in the barrel so the ballpoint was the logical choice for me

That's another reason why I wanted the ballpoint as I intend to use it. I have set number 1501/3000 of the MB Carlo Collodi limited edition collection and none of the instruments have been used. Waste of money, it really is.
