Icon20 Came across these, really interesting

Saw these on another forum, and found it quite interesting. The last picture apparently was taken in a swimming pool and was a notice to look up valubles

Guess that sheds some light on the old "golfing wearing my watch" question. Suppose they have started using "slightly stiffer springs" since 1951?

Very interesting letters Jon, thank you for posting. I didn't know that Winston had a Rolex - mind you what else would he wear? I had to look up General Guisan, who was Switzerland's military leader during WWII, a brave man determined to fight the Germans should they try to infringe Swizz territory.

Take it from a professional golf ball tester

My Rolex AD specifically asked Rolex USA and the RSC if playing golf, specifically hitting many golf balls was good for the watch.....they replied, "Constant wearing of your Rolex on the golf course was not recommended."

I have never liked the feel of my watch on my wrist when I worked or played, this made it no option.

Interesting.

Rolex seem impressed with their watches, even in those days.

I knew the Milgfauss GV WAS the most valuable watch that Rolex made.

Great primary sources. Awesome! Now that's reason to be proud to wear Rolex. Ike the General and U.S. President wore Rolex.

Valuable primary source document… It’s documents such as this that make Rolex the brand it is today. Plus it touches on the Generals love of golf!

Here is a nice piece on Gen. Ridgeway, who, in my opinion, was clearly a worthy recipient of a Rolex time piece:

Great post, Jon. I wonder if Ridgway got number 200,000 or if old Ike directed it elsewhere?
