On that leather strap I would treat it as my other watches on leather straps ; meaning the closest to water it gets is when washing ones hands. That is not a deal breaker for me. Boy do you have to pay the gold premium to get that gorgeous movement decoration upgrade though. I think it is a smart move however business wise, more incentive to buy the gold.

True, it seems fair to give the gold buyers more than just a different metal. Actually, because of the 30m wr, this watch almost makes more sense in gold and 42mm.
