First Rolex - 116710BLNR or 116713LN

Hi everyone,

First time poster and soon to be member of the club. Wanted to get your opinion between the BLNR and the TT. I went to the AD last Friday with all intentions of buying the BLNR. Of course when I get there, the one they have is already on hold for someone else. I was then directed towards the TT. The sales person told me of the upcoming Father's Day event they are having and that prior to the event, the owner looks at every piece that is on hold and discounts many pieces. The TT has been in the inventory for several months so he would likely give a deep discount for it. For a BLNR, no discount and slight discount for standard 116710LN. I did like the look of the TT so I put a deposit (refundable) down in hopes of a significant discount.

What do you guys think? Did I make the right call? I'm nervous that the TT is more formal looking and not an everyday watch. I do like the way it looks though and like how it is more rare than the SS models. My other concern is if I should ever decide to sell down the line, I want a watch that will still hold a high resale value. Nervous that it might not since it's not as popular as its SS counterparts. I did a search and there are no reviews or posts about the TT.
