I helped a friend last week purchase from a seller I've bought two watches from and he said it was a fantastic experience. He's super happy with the purchase as it was exactly the White Gold Daytona with the racing numbers that he was looking for. I was happy to refer him to this seller and am pretty certain the goodwill will come back around in the future. My friend is buying me lunch this weekend as well and I get to admire his new watch. I guess he wasn't annoying whatsoever so it worked out great and I hope to refer this seller to many more friends in the future.

I hooked my sister up with her first Rolex last fall thru my AD. She was impressed and thankful to save some money while I was glad to help. In fact, we are actually closer due to the experience.

Here's a picture of her first and only Rolex.

I referred him to a seller...he struck a deal and bought a watch for himself and his wife.

The day after he got his watch - he scratched it. Called the seller to ask what he should do...this after I told him to try cape cod or just forget it.

Now his watch is in the shop - for some mechanical issue - and his wife claims her watch runs "fast" but can't say how she knows - or how fast.

Of course I get to hear all about it.

Might be my last referral.
Main reason why I remain neutral when I hear friends/family are looking for a watch.

I have referred people to my AD but that is as far as it goes. I always call the AD and warn them of any pitfalls with folks if there are any.

Agree with Mike, but great to read a reverse story of this bringing frenemies together.

Yup, I've helped my brother-in-law, we did a face to face transaction with Opaline460 (Evan) buying a daytona and my college roommate buy a 114060 through DavidSW. For my roommate I paid and told him if it wasn't exactly what he wanted he wouldn't have to pay me back. Worst case scenario was I had another sub
Each time they knew what they wanted and I just looked for what they wanted.

Is this about you or your sister-in-law? If she gets on your nerves now, a Rolex purchase will not solve the issue, in fact, it may even make it worse if something goes sideways...stay clear of people who annoy you...
