When will more photos of the DD40 60th anniversary pop up?
I am dying to see the photos as I am not 100% on whether I love it or neutral to it. I am looking to get a dd40 this year for my 30th birthday and would love to see more photos pop up of the green dial on rose gold.

I really like the look of the green dial, it's a beautiful watch in either metal👍

Nice green colour but it limits your choice to the Roman numerals. I wanted stick markers with lume, so the green was out. The whole '60th anniversary' thing is a bit odd, because it's just another colour. My favourite is that darker blue they offer, but again, Roman numerals.
A shame they don't offer all the colours with a choice of markers. . Whatever you choose, a brilliant watch to wear; in fact I find it hard to wear any other watch. Probably a passing phase but the Day-Date sneaks up on you. It's just an elegant watch and the weight of the gold is weirdly alluring. Very strange and not what I would have expected just a few years ago. |

I think Rolex has saved me from a lot of purchases over the years just because of the plasticky-looking views of the watches on their site. Everything they make is much, much better in person! I've seen them do wonderful product photography but the renderings in the model comparison area are lifeless. Thankfully! I have tried on the DD40 green in WG, and it is beautiful. I think that shade of green falls right in that nice space between different and stealthy... It's almost gray in some lighting and really wakes up and has dimension in brighter light. I am not a romans fan, either - stick dials for me - so no regrets not going that route. |

I really wish I didn't like the DD so much. After I tried one on, I just couldn't get it out of my head. I always found 36mm a little too small for me. I'm looking forward to the 40mm cases as they will suit my wrist better.

I saw it at my AD two days ago and it looks great! Unique piece that's not for everyone.

I love it. Has a nice amount of flash to it and come on if your buying a DD40 in YG or RG. Youre ok with flash.

Tried on a WG this evening, not the best photo (I was trying to capture the way the dial catches the light using my iPhone flash) but it's beautiful in the flesh. I saw the RG too but didn't get chance to try it on. The photo really doesn't do it justice, you really need to track one down and try it on your wrist.

Weird life. I posted here about having the silver DD40. But it went wrong...another DD40 where the calendar was erratic, sometimes changing 90 minutes late. Which should not happen. Both DD40s I owned had the same issue.
Anyway, went to the AD, who offered to replace it with a new 60th Anniversary version, the green one. Which I am now wearing. Don't rely on pictures, the watch is so responsive to the light that you have to view it yourself. Worn on a grey day it looks quite different to when in sunshine. It's a chameleon. I wasn't going to accept it, but my partner loved the colour, and she wisely talked me into the change. Do try to see one for yourself. Rolex need to fix the slow calendar change without delay. I'm far from the only owner who had this issue.. Great watches though, I'm delighted to have one (my third!). Rolex will fix this, they're a first-rate company. As far as I can tell, my third sample works just fine. And great service from my AD. As I said, weird life...... |
