I helped the Patina along overnight
So, I have the new tudor BB Bronze and was reading up on how to Patina a piece without waiting. I did an experiment last night with my new Montegrappa copper pen.. I just boiled an egg, then put it in a bag with my pen.... crushed the egg and left overnight. The effect was pretty cool.... So, do I do my Bronze Tudor next or let the natural process do the job. Is this cheating or is it ok?
From what I read, it can be reversed with a simple cleaning, however with the brushed finish on the watch, it might not be so easy.....so here are pics of the easy project with the pen..... first pick is when new as received ... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

I'd leave the watch alone.

I recently purchased my father a MARATAC AAA flashlight that is bronze. It literally took about 2 weeks for it to start showing SIGNIFICANT patina with normal use. Leave it alone......it won't take long IMHO.

How does your pen smell?
I'd let it age on it's own. |

Let it patina naturally.. It takes time but well worth it.
Swim with it in ocean, it will accelerate patina. |

No smell at all but sounds like I should just let nature takes its course and let it patina nornally..being in the desert here in Arizona it might take longer because it is so try....but it's a dry heat and ths high today will be 115.. ouchy

I have the same pen and it took just a few weeks to develop a nice patina. Naturally is the way to go. It was neat to see it change over time.

Tudor uses aluminum bronze and it will oxidize much slower than other bronze alloys used in watches.
Just wear it 24-7 for a few years and it should darken a bit. |

I would not do that to the Tudor!
A brushed finish may be impossible to reverse.
