The Root Beer vs the Pepsi

I've been trading and collecting GMTs for many years now and for those that know me, I definitely have an infinity for the "Pepsi" GMT models, whether it be the 1675 or 16750 quick-set model. As I mentioned in a thread a few months ago, the "Root Beer" two-tone GMTs have also gained some deserved recognition from me finally, and I've started to add them to the collection.

I find the vintage two-tone models as versatile as the stainless steel models with the various inserts available for them, as well as the bracelet combinations.

Last week I found this gorgeous 1972 Root Beer, which now has a new home here in Texas and one that I plan on keeping.

With that said, let's see some photos of your Root Beer/Pepsi combos or just some good old Root Beers.

Mine has gone as part of a multi watch flip into a gold Daytona.
But here it was and the best GMT I've had.

I recall an old Explorer but not the other one. The RB was the memorable piece though. No regrets since it had its fair share of wrist time.

Root Beer beats out Pepsi. Love the oval link jubilee as well.

Congrats on the new watch, Springer. Considering your long-standing love affair with the Pepsi, I'm surprised it took you so long to get into the Root Beer variant.

I love them both, but can see why the Pepsi has more mainstream appeal and the Root Beer more of a cult following.

Always preferred SS GMTs, but coming around to Root Beer love. Just acquired this and can't stop looking at it. Something about the way it captures light that is different from other dials on stainless steel versions. Still love Pepsi, but the Root Beer adds yet another dimension to the charms of the GMT!

I have a GMT Master II Pepsi and want to find a root beer birth year watch. Thinking I'll get one for my 40th b-day next year. I love the root beer on a nice leather strap.

Some beautiful watches. The Pepsi and Root Beer provide such a distinctive look - I really enjoy wearing them.
