Charging Luminova
while I am assuming that most folks accomplish this via daylight or LED exposure, some might go to extremes to achieve a longer & more brilliant glow.
case in point...a co-worker had been using quartz halogen lamps (similar to the old Cibie Z-Beams) & over a period of time, fried his GMT to the point where the crystal eventually warped, the internal gaskets melted & the lubrication all but dried up. on the other hand, that watch sure could glow... even in daylight shade or on an overcast day. when he eventually took it in for repairs, the RSC asked him if he had been to the planet Mercury. moral of the story...for some folks, a Timex Indiglo is more than sufficient. |

You can't "overcharge" Luminova by shining brighter lights at it..

how times have changed...my first Timex was a Marlin with radium hands/dial. Indiglo is now a classic illuminating feature. I've heard that some Boy Scouts use them as short distance flashlights & for signaling Morse Code...you can't do that with a Rolex.
