My experience with very expensive Rolex watches (pics included)
Yesterday i arrived to Kuala Lumpur and today had a free day which i spent by looking sightseeings and went to fe Rolex AD. I was surprised that in major shopping malls there are all top brands located (AP, PP, VC, GP, Rolex and etc.) In one Rolex AD i tried the following Rolex watches on my wrist:
1) WG Daytona - initially i thought that this is SS Daytona :) immeadiately understood my mistake when i took into my hands. It was more heavier than SS. Very nice watch, however, in my subjective opinion it is better to buy SS Daytona or YG Daytona if you want to show- off a bit 2) Platinum Daytona - i was amazed by the weight of that watch. I knew that it is heavy but never thought that ut is so heavy. Very pleasant feeling to feel such watch on the wrist. 3) YG Skydweller - too thick watch case, complications that i do not need at all. I immeadetialy felt that i would never buy such watch even if i am billionaire. Definitely not my type of watch. 4) Platinum Day date with diamond bezel - interesting feeling to have 100,000 usd watch on a wrist however, daimond bezel is too flashy, also platijum looks like SS. Only TRF members can easily identify that it is Paltinum, mother people would think taht itbis a SS. For me, Day date always associate with YG. Some day i will buy used YG Day date. |

Welcome to Kuala Lumpur :-) Looks like an AD in either KLCC or Pavilion. Swing by the AD in Bangsar Shopping Center as well, for some crusted pieces. Have fun, and have a good stay here in KL!

Ummm...IMHO that DD is worst replica I've seen recently.
Consider this real one...which AD had it? And a new SkyDweller with a scratched acrylic crystal? Maybe this was a shop posing as an AD?

This is Asia, we get some really blinged out pieces. That DD is simply a crusted DD. And the scratches are on the wrap, not on the watch itself
Some ADs here will also have crusted Platonas. Completely pointless, but I'm told there is a market for them. Someday, someone will just pick it up at when given the right discount. |

The ice blue dial also signifies it is platinum, altho I still find no one really notices your watches unless they have an interest.

I prefer the look of the Platona with brown dial borders as think makes a better match to the brown ceramic bezel

I have seen Platina with factory paved diamond dial & ceramic bezel at my AD. Rolex does offer a wide range of diamond references
