Maybe stretched bracelets are more comfortable?
I prefer and seek out nice, new, un-stretched watch bracelets. I think I'm in the majority on that. However, I spent yesterday wearing and studying a nicely stretched jubilee and found it exceedingly comfortable. Maybe I've been barking up the wrong tree.
When you wear a strap or stretched bracelet you can see that the watch and the clasp don't always remain parallel to each other (see photo). And yet the trend and preference is for increasingly rigid bracelets which prevent such natural flexing. Just an observation. Perhaps I won't let a well-loved bracelet discourage me from a purchase. And maybe it'll even have the opposite effect. |

Personally I'd buy a good condition bracelet only. Prefer to stretch it myself by wearing it.

Stretched is Always more comfortable IMHO but looks are not so good unfortunately

I don't know about this one. Wearing lose fitting watches does not work with me. I can't stand for things to swing around my wrist SO…. I would rather have a non stretched bracelet over a stretched bracelet.

Whenever I've taken in a vintage DJ, it has a stretched Jubilee. I'll wear it and marvel how comfy it fits when worn a little loose.
Why Rolex hasn't figured out how to mimic that without the damaged center links is beyond me... And now I kick myself for not saving those old bracelets and selling the vintage DJ onward with a new $100 strap...d'oh

Jubilees on their own are just very comfortable. They also tend to stretch more. I like my watches secure on my wrist but that doesn't mean the bracelet has to be rigid. In my opinion that makes them less comfortable.

Like most things, bracelets are more comfortable when broken in a bit.
Like most things, there is a point of diminishing returns.

Once a bracelet breaks in it is indeed a bit more comfortable. As others said before would prefer to break it in myself!

Couldn't see myself buying a watch with a stretched bracelet but you are right. They are more comfortable broken in.
