Scratch on superdome
No idea when/ how picked up my first scratch. Unless you really look/ hold up to light - virtually can't see it but now I know it's there ........
You can see it on the attached picture Hear a lot of guys talking about polywatch. Last thing I want to do is buy & ruin the superdome. Any experience of using ? |

Polywatch works okay, but if you have access to a water cooled sanding wheel, that can make crystals look perfect. It shoots water onto the sandpaper as you're polishing it. Also works with crystals made of other materials. #loveit
Maybe a jeweler in your area has one? I would highly doubt that a standard watchmaker would have one. |

Polywatch will not ruin the dome. I promise you. But, in a pinch, use some toothpaste. A small dab, swirl it around on the dome for a minute, wipe off. It truly works amazingly well....and most likely, you have some in the house!

Some blue painters tape, a dab of Brasso brass polish, and some elbow grease from an old t-shirt and you'll be back in business in about 15 minutes. |

Me too. I've used toothpaste (Arm & Hammer) on both my vintage OP Date and Pre-moon Omega Speedmaster with great results. I've tried Brasso and it worked, but not as well as toothpaste IMHO. You definitely won't damage the crystal with either.

The wheels on the left are super aggressive and as you make your way to the right, they get less aggressive. The one on the far right is incredibly light.

Toothpaste works on light scratches.

My dad used to rub the plexi with his thumb to polish it. It seemed to work also:)
