He is a very simple person who is actually happy that the watch will be worn instead of sitting in a drawer.

I was very surprised it had the original Fat Font insert and the 702 crown, as these items are the first to get swapped out during service.

Here's another shot of it, driving home.

I'm glad that I know better than to think that I have the patience and skill (and moxie) to take grit and polish to my 1680 service crystal. I really like the look of ^^^^^^

So I went for a cleaner look.

Plus I have a my MK2 if I want the cyclops look:

Really interesting. I wasn't aware the cyclops could be sanded down. Thought the crystal was a single piece, including cyclops and there'd be nothing under there. Cool.

Dealing with a cyclops removal on acrylic is different than sapphire (where cleaving is an option).

Great piece for sure. What was the process for taking off the cyclops?

I took my wife's emory board and went to town on the cyclops
Went through 2 emory boards and about 30 minutes of sanding.

Kept going until it was smooth and no bump

then I took some 1000 grit sand paper and made it all even

then I took some toothpaste and made it all shiny.

Done
