Faber-Casteel Walden Woods
Have this one on the way.
Sometimes the stars align, the magnetic poles reverse, and the bank account shrinks! This is one of those "expensive" pens that are limited. The barrel has Thoreau's handwriting etched on it and the ash wood used for the pen is reclaimed from naturally-fallen trees at Walden Pond. These are not my photos, but will have some soon after the arrival. Photo credit: Pen Addict. ![]()

I now have this pen and impressed.
Why don't they all make them with this quality? It doesn't seem to be such a hard thing to do, but then again I am not the one putting $$$$ into engineering and design. I wanted to love this FP for several years. And now that it is here, I do as I wished! Beautiful flow and there is no detraction from their workmanship. Just perfect ink on paper from heart to papyrus. With the joy that a premium fountain pen should deliver! And then there is the issue of translucent diatribe! But that is always there is it not?

Richard, what a fantastic new fountain pen.....especially with the Ash wood coming from Walden Pond itself. And the writing in Thoreau's own cursive writing style as well.....what a treasure indeed!!!
Take care and enjoy.....Leo

Really great looking pen! Sometimes the planets align and you get a pen that works, and work really well!

Thank you all!
I used it today at work for the first time and I don't know why, but all the Faber Castell pens that I own just flat work out of the box. No skipping, buttery smooth, and just the right amount of ink flow. The only thing that would improve it is for it to be a fine Italic. Might have to put $35.00 into it and have Mrs. Tyree work her magic on it! There is nothing quite as satisfying as a fountain pen the flows your thoughts onto paper without effort.

Ok... well .... this FP is now in the top 5 of my collection.
Buttery smooth and flows as nicely as can be imagined. No buyer's remorse here guys...... Go out and get one if you can find it. They are a bit rare as Faber only made 2006 of them (crafted in 2006 so therefore the odd number), but I would think that any of their upper echelon Faber fountain pens will be just as good! I am weary of pen companies comparing themselves to themselves. Faber Castell's workmanship is one off! They do hand crafted nibs as hand crafted should be and are worth the $$$$ if you appreciate quality. A lifetime of satisfaction costs a bit more, but is ever worth it. What is the old saying... Buy quality.... cry once! By cheap.... cry forever!
