Jubilee bracelet on 1675 GMT - Question
Hey guys,
I have a 1675 on it's original oyster bracelet and both the watch and the bracelet have been polished by the RSC when it went in for service. The bracelet has quite a bit of stretch on it and so was thinking about picking up a Jubilee bracelet for it for a change. The question I have is - would a new jubilee bracelet (being that it is shiny) clash with the case (which clearly looks old and worn)? Has anyone tried this combo before and if so what are your thoughts? Also - this one might be a weird question, but would a two-tone Jubilee bracelet fit with the look of the 1675? Has anyone tried this? Thanks in advance for your comments. Bharat |

If your worried about the stretch, send it to Michael Young for a fraction of the price of a new Jubilee

+1...Michael Young restored bracelet will be well worth the modest cost.

I don't know who the seller is and I didn't do much more than glance at the offering as I have a good and proper jubilee on my 1675 but there are 3 jubilee bracelets in one ad in the classifieds:

Not the best quality photo, but this gives some idea of how a Jubilee looks on a 1675 Pepsi GMT . . . . .

Thanks. Stretch is definitely the primary reason for me looking at another bracelet, but I am also interested in a 'new look' if you will, that the Jubilee bracelet might give the watch.

I bought a brand-new Jubilee from Rolex this year to put on my 1971 1675. It looks great!

Brand new 2016 Jubilee on 1971 Pepsi. It was a bit shiny at first with the PCLs, but has worn in well.

I meant to say in my earlier post - I changed to a Jubilee bracelet for the same reason you are, namely 'non-stretchability'. I only lived with the Oyster bracelet on my 1967 GMT for one year. I fitted the Jubilee bracelet in the pic in 1968 and I've always been pleased I did; the Jubilee has always felt comfortable and secure, with none of the sloppiness I find comes with an expandable bracelet. Go for it!

I think it looks great as it is, but you could use MY for restoration as suggested. I've had a couple of bracelets done by his firm, with good results.
A Jubilee would look excellent as well, and would not 'clash' with the case at all - far from it. Here's a photo of my c1967 1675 MKI 'long E' on a Jubilee. The watch case has never been polished, and has some wear marks, understandably!

PS - I don't think a TT bracelet would work, personally.

After I posted this I realized that I didn't hold the case perpendicular to the ground. But I guess it conveys the stretch.

Jubilee's are great on a GMT and super comfortable.
I had a 90's jubilee on my 1970 1675, then found an old folded big crown clasp jub a few months ago and like the look and feel better. The folded has 55 end links and takes proper 2mm bars, the newer jub was originally from a DateJust and has 555b end links and only takes 1.8mm bars. It worked fine but something to consider when shopping. The proper GMT jubilee has a 50 stamped on the last link and takes 2mm bars. They are somewhat hard to find but do pop up in the sales area. 90's jub 67 jub

It's not mine, I took that picture from the HQMilton site. I don't think your bracelet is in a bad shape or has too much stretch (again if you think so, no problem). I remember someone once posted a chart on here with the angles of a watch when you hold it like that and gave it a x/10 regarding the condition.
