Eric Atkinson is from KY, he's the guy smack dab in the middle of the first picture I posted. There were close to 30 people for that dinner so I'm sure there was more than one Eric.

The Screagle was 97, perhaps the ultimate vintage for presale SE.

The PVW 17 is incredibly rare because as you say it was bottled for such a very short time. It's the grail for high-end collectors for sure!! I'd settle for a 15 year from the 90's or a gold vein or really any SW pappy.

I don't usually post on this thread but this arrived today from an auction site and I have to show! The Voerzio is ok but the Trimbach is the real star of this show. Can't wait to taste that again!

Congrats!! Great bottles! the Verozio is fabulous, after it's brother (Brunate) received 100 points from JS I bought all the 97's I could and have a few La Serra's waiting in my cellar. I wouldn't open them for another 10 years IMHO. The Brunate's another 15 years.

Wowzers, a '97 ScrEagle is on most connoisseur's grail list! I'd only be more impressed if it were a '92.

Sadly, the ones I have are all laying down for many more years before they should be consumed......

So turns out my buddy Paul is tight with your buddy, Eric. The ScrEagle and Scarecrow were actually from Paul (ScrEagle was a trade for some Pappy that another attendee traded with Paul).

There were way less than 30 attendees at the SQN offline. And hilariously, there were 2 Eric's and a 3rd guy who also has a name pronounced as Eric.

That is too funny, Paul is trading me a Scarecrow 2013 for two bottles of Cristal, paul is a serious wine guy, and a bit of a lunatic from some of the pictures I've seen from the last few days!!

How many people were at that dinner, Eric made it seem like there were a lot.

Winemaker Notes
Our 2014 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is a beautiful medium golden color. This wine displays expressive fruit aromas of yellow apple and lemon curd, along with classic oak expression notes of toasted hazelnut, vanilla custard and crème brulee. The flavor on the palate is more elegant and cool climate style, showing varietal intensity and minerality, but with extended notes of baked yellow apples and peach cobbler. The fruit shows a rich, textural body from barrel fermentation, but it reined in by good acidity and lemon zest.

So I am doing a quick trip and was lucky to stop by a few wineries. A couple of highlights for you guys.

And for last a very special mini vertical.

78 was probably past its best but still drinkable, a LOT of leather on the palate.
03 was good drinking but would benefit from another 5-10 yrs.
13 was ridiculously good, with age this will be one spectacular wine.
