I was in Vegas this weekend and stopped by the Boutique. The first piece I saw was the RM35-01. I tried it on. WOW is all I have to say. Fit better than ALL my Pateks and felt absolutely perfect for me. I was ear to ear smile but then as I left I started to think about resale. Do I really want to pay 90-100k and then come a year or two from now when I get bored of it sell for 50-60k to a grey dealer. The thought of that just absolutely kills me. RM makes so many versions of the same reference that it scares me to pull the trigger. 80 versions of an 11 YIKES! What should I do? What are the experts thoughts on the specific piece 35-01 in terms of pieces produced, being discontinued, resale value etc. Feel free to PM me privately if you don't want to respond here. Thanks RM fanatics!
the resale value of RM035-01 is excellent. it is hard to find one below 80k. most of them are in the 100k range even in the grey mkt.

Will PM you, but here are my general thoughts.

As with any brand (AP, Patek, etc) there are various models that sell well and others that are not as popular. The ‘safe’ RM’s have been 011 (non-LE pieces), 035 and 055 to a certain degree. I’ve always stated that LE pieces (no matter the model) will not hold as well. Right now RM is on fire and harder than ever to procure the desirable pieces. The used market for those three is extremely strong.

RM is not a brand for the weak of heart or wallet…it’s a brand for those that want to stand out from the crowd and enjoy extreme sports watches. Those worried about cost in general, should probably stay away from RM (or will naturally).

My advice is find the RM you absolutely love and take the time to find the best price (which will mean building a strong relationship with an AD). It can take months, in some cases years, to find THE RM you want at the price you’re willing to pay.

Be careful with RM (I personally would never buy one without papers) on the secondary market. Do your homework—enough said.

At the end of the day RM is the sports watch for the very few and you get that special feeling every time you wear it. When you’re ready to stand out – RM is a perfect choice.

Good luck with the hunt.

Thank you friends...working on something special for you all.

Be patient with me as it will be worth the wait (RM closes for August so nothing is coming to US until Sept--but you never know :-).

That is a nice full RG version for sure. European and UK Boutiques only? Or ADs as well?

Wow, thanks guys on the welcome back--so nice to be loved in the RM forum

eonflux, yes new 011 coming, but heard 4-6 months out at best...and first ones will be at Boutiques--full price. Also been told may not like it (something about the case and screw setting--we'll see) still waiting for preview of pic.

From a real world perspective it's been the most accurate watch brand I've owned--always spot on (both 011 and 035). They run amazing.
