Proud new owner of Submariner
Hey guys and gals, I bought my first Rolex 10 hours ago :-) I bought it new from an authorized dealer.
I used to think anyone who dropped a few grand on a watch was crazy. That is until I started researching Rolexes and realized that they hold their value so well to the point that owning one is almost free. Not the I intend to sell my baby any time soon but knowing that I can sell it for nearly what I paid or maybe even more after some time makes it all make sense. My brother bought his Rolex new 8 years ago for $2700. He sent it in to Rolex for servicing recently and they appraised it's replacement value at $5700! It has more than doubled in price. His watch is being advertised on the internet, USED, for $4000! So it's not so crazy after all :-) One question - I noticed no one likes to publish their serial numbers, only showing the series letter and one or two digits... why?! Sam |

Welcome Sam
Full serial numbers are probably best kept private, just for security purposes. Enjoy the forums.

Some buy motorcycles, boats etc some by watches / jewelry. I will have my Rolex long after those other folks have sold their toys!
